Please read these terms carefully before using SupportCalc.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the SupportCalc website at calcsupport.org (the "Site"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Site. We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

SupportCalc provides free, web-based child support estimation tools designed to help users estimate child support obligations based on publicly available state guidelines. Our services include:

  • State-specific child support calculators for all 50 U.S. states
  • Informational content about child support laws and guidelines
  • Frequently asked questions and educational resources
  • State-by-state comparisons and guideline explanations

The Site is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.

3. Not Legal Advice

IMPORTANT: The information and calculations provided by SupportCalc are for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this Site constitutes legal advice, nor does it create an attorney-client relationship.

Child support calculations generated by our tools are estimates based on publicly available state guidelines. Actual child support orders are determined by courts and may differ from our estimates due to factors including but not limited to:

  • Judicial discretion and case-specific considerations
  • Additional expenses not captured by guideline formulas (e.g., extraordinary medical costs, educational expenses, special needs)
  • Deviations from guidelines permitted by state law
  • Court-ordered adjustments based on the best interests of the child
  • Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated input data provided by users

You should not rely solely on our calculations for legal, financial, or personal decisions. Always consult with a qualified family law attorney licensed in your jurisdiction for advice specific to your situation.

4. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Site
  • Use the Site to transmit, distribute, or store material that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site or servers or networks connected to the Site
  • Use any automated means, including bots, scrapers, or spiders, to access the Site for any purpose without our express written permission
  • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of the Site for commercial purposes without our express written consent
  • Use the calculations or content from the Site to provide legal advice to others
  • Misrepresent the source, accuracy, or authority of any information obtained from the Site

5. Accuracy of Calculations

While we make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of our calculators and the information on the Site, we do not warrant that:

  • The calculations will be error-free, uninterrupted, or completely accurate
  • The results will meet your specific requirements or expectations
  • The formulas reflect the most current version of your state's guidelines at all times
  • Any errors in the Site will be corrected

Calculations are based on publicly available guidelines and may not account for all factors considered by a court. State laws change periodically, and there may be a delay between when a law changes and when our calculators are updated.

6. Intellectual Property

The Site and its entire contents, features, and functionality — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, software, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof — are owned by SupportCalc, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

  • Modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based upon the Site or any portion thereof
  • Use any data mining, robots, or similar data gathering methods on the Site
  • Download (other than page caching) any portion of the Site or any information contained therein, except as expressly permitted on the Site
  • Use the Site or its contents for any commercial purpose without express written consent

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SUPPORTCALC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Site

  • Any content obtained from the Site
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in any calculations or information provided by the Site
  • Decisions made or actions taken based on information or calculations from the Site

This limitation of liability applies regardless of the legal theory under which such damages are sought, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SupportCalc and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, suppliers, and any third-party information providers from and against all losses, expenses, damages, costs, claims, and demands, including reasonable attorneys' fees and related costs and expenses, arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Site

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Delaware.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall nevertheless continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision.

12. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Legal Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and SupportCalc regarding the use of the Site and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
